In recent weeks, we've seen an increase in customer's posts failing to publish to their Instagram Business Profiles, with the following error:
"Facebook has restricted the use of this account. To resolve this issue please contact Facebook directly: https://www.facebook.com/business/help/support"
This is happening as Instagram is looking to verify information with their users in order to improve the experience for their community. To address this, you will need to take action on the Instagram app by logging into it directly.
Usually, Instagram will display a notification in their app as soon as you log in requesting that you confirm your date of birth, as seen in the screenshots below. However, if this notification has been skipped or not is not displayed when you log in, you will need to manually enter this information.
In most cases, the information which needs to be added in the Instagram app is the date of birth, however, there have been instances where an email address or phone number also needs to be confirmed.
Once you've logged into the Instagram app, if you don't see a notification like the ones above, you can also update this information manually by going to: Settings ➜ Account ➜ Personal Information, and in most cases, all fields will be auto-filled from the Facebook Profile your Instagram account is connected to. If not, please be sure to add them manually.
Once that's been done, your posts should no longer fail with this error message.
